Kye is a fun-loving twenty-something year old who loves writing, reading and listening and dancing to music when no one’s looking.

I am a copywriter by profession, although I’ve worked in PR as a digital media manager and a public relations manager over the last four years.

3. Are you currently doing a job you love or working towards it?

At the moment I am a copywriter at an advertising agency, although I started a boutique PR & marketing company that specializes in events & entertainment called Lumpen Media to make a little something extra on the side.

4. What will it be?

I am already working in it – Lumpen Media as mentioned earlier.

5. How did you hear about Teakisi?

I stumbled upon Teakisi while scrolling down my Twitter timeline. A lady named Salha Kaitesi was looking for volunteer contributors from all over the world for a blogzine for African women by African women. I got in touch with her and right now, I’m proud to say that May 2017 will mark my fourth anniversary at Teakisi.

6. What does Teakisi mean to you?

Teakisi is the voice that tells the African woman’s unheard story. Not only has it given me a chance to share my own story with the world, it has enabled me as a lifestyle and entertainment contributor to tell other women’s stories which would probably have never been heard.

In five years, I’m hoping to have a seat at the table of the prime event organizers in Uganda and East Africa.

1. A notebook
2. Music
3. My glasses – I’m as blind as a bat.

9. What’s the one thing you would change about Africa if you had the chance to?

The education system. There are many aspects of it which I strongly believe need to be revised.
