A high protein and iron meal, it is so nutritious, inexpensive, so quick and easy to prepare. It is so delicious and it does look delish!😊 My husband loves chicken livers; he can have them on any day and at any time. He loves them in his soups too, hahaha, sounds crazy right? But it’s the truth.
With that said, I always make sure that I try out as many new chicken liver recipes as I can, just to make sure he enjoys them more and more every time I cook them at home. Recently I tried out this tomato peri- peri sauce and it was so delicious. I bet you that this sauce will make those who don’t really like chicken liver to start enjoying them. The sauce was blended well with the added fresh chillies, crushed garlic and garlic pepper seasoning. I loved everything about it. I saw myself enjoying it even before adding the chicken liver to it. The chicken liver can be served as a starter, as a main or as a snack at any time of the day. Oh, and if you have leftovers, serve them as part of breakfast the next day. Yum!
Ingredients
250g chicken livers
2 tsp Cajun spice
1 tsp fresh chopped rosemary
1 tbs spicy Worcestershire sauce
2 tbs olive oil
¼ cup sliced onion
¼ cup sliced medley tomatoes
1 green chilli, sliced
1 tsp crushed garlic
1 tsp garlic pepper seasoning
2 tbs tomato sauce
1 tbs spicy tikka sauce
Method
Season the chicken livers with Cajun spice and rosemary. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a non-stick pan, fry chicken livers until golden brown on both sides, drizzle with spicy Worcestershire sauce. Meanwhile, heat oil in a saucepan, saute onions until onions are soft and translucent, then add garlic and saute for 30 seconds. Add tomatoes, sliced chillies and simmer until well cooked. Add tomato sauce and spicy tikka sauce and season well. Add the chicken livers into the sauce. Serve and enjoy.
P.S. enjoy it with your favourate toasted bread, rice or pasta
