From time to time, I like to host random gatherings.  I’ll invite a friend or two for dinner or lunch. I do this especially when I want to try out a new recipe and get some honest feedback.  As a chef, I absolutely love these moments as they fuel my creativity.  For these gatherings, the menu depends on how much time I have to prepare without sacrificing quality.  Tasty meals do not have to be synonymous to time consuming.

For my last gathering, I tried this simple, tasty and quick meal.  So simple, all you have to do is:  marinate the pork chops in the morning before going to work or running errands, come back later to grill for a few minutes, and serve it with your choice of starch, warm vegetables or a salad. I served mine with sauteed snow peas and baby carrots…. Yummy!!

“It is tasty, and oh so yummilicious” said a friend of mine.

Pan Grilled Pork chops

Ingredients

3 tsp Soy sauce

1 tsp minced garlic

1tsb fresh thyme leaves

3 tsp Tomato sauce

3 tsp Honey

1 tsp olive oil

Directions

Rub the pork chops with the thyme leaves.

Prepare marinade

Whisk together all the ingredients in a bowl, add the pork chop,  rub well and refrigerate.

Place little oil in a large iron pan or (heavy stainless steel pan) and heat until medium hot.

Arrange the chops in the pan and grill for 6 to 8 minutes on each side or as desired.

Once done, switch off the heat and keep them warm until serving time.

Enjoy!
