In that moment I hang up the phone. The silence bursts my bubble.

You’re there and then you’re not.

I know that in a few seconds I can catch you again. I don’t call.

It’s confusing for a second. Everything seems so strange.

Only now do I realize my return to a world I’d rather not be in.

That rapid change from extremely at ease to harsh realities.

When I’m with you, I’m in my element.

But you have to go, and that’s okay, I tell myself.

I re-laugh the jokes, worry about your worries, anticipate your dreams.

Slowly lower my cloud, walk right back into the rest of the day.

He’ll be up in a few hours, I tell myself.

It’s never goodbye…Till next phone-call.
